Urban Nature (2017)

Urban Nature was a photography exhibition by Fiona Sinéad Brehony, exhibited at Coffee Wake Cup in Clapham, London as part of the cafe’s rolling programme of artist exhibitions.

Working across urban and natural landscapes, the work attended to sections of the city that often go unnoticed – the silence beneath the surface of a busy place, the overlooked corners and quiet presences that exist alongside the visible city. An early articulation of preoccupations that continue to run through Brehony’s practice: the hidden life of urban spaces, the poetic in the everyday, and the relationship between people and the environments they inhabit without always seeing.
